Domestic Abuse and the NFL

Smith was arrested on domestic violence charges just two days after playing an NFL game on Thanksgiving Day. According to police in Lafayette, LA, an officer witnessed the dispute between Smith and his wife at about two o'clock in the morning. According to the officer, the disturbance became "physical" and Smith allegedly grabbed teh woman by the hair and pulled her down the street. Smith was taken into custody and later released on $1,000 bond.

In this instance, Smith's wife did not make any accusations, rather a police officer saw the incident and made the arrest.
